Cortijada Los Gázquez Creative Retreat and Artist Residency

We will spend two weeks in June 2012 at Joya: Arte y Ecología Residency at Cortijada Los Gázquez, a creative retreat located in the Natural Park of Sierra María-Los Vélez, Almería, in Andalucía.

Giving our artist talk to Cortijada guests and artists at the conclusion of our residency

UPDATE: While in residence we worked on a series of generative art applications that created algorithmic responses to the local environment. After the residency, we took a bus across southern Spain to Grenada and Málaga, where we performed Indeterminate Hikes+ at the Museo y Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga. Joya published a series of images from our residency on their Facebook page–taken by Gonzaga Gómez-Cortázar Romero, Joya’s Communications Coordinator–and edited a video of our time there. Many thanks to the founders Simon and Donna Beckmann! And to Simon and Gonzaga for coordinating our performance at Alhóndiga Bilbao in November at the Hondakin 2012 Festival on Tactile Media.
